Samsung’s Galaxy F series has always focused on offering unique features in combination with good performance. Having used many of the brand’s Galaxy F series phones, it’s easy for me to conclude that these smartphones really offer a good combination of design and performance, considering their mid-range prices. Samsung is going in the same direction and recently introduced its Galaxy F55 5G, which adds vegan leather quality to its Galaxy devices. It includes features such as an in-display fingerprint reader, 45W fast charging support and much more. So is this sleek new mid-range all about style? Or do you also back it up with a good performance? Let’s find out!
Samsung Galaxy F55 5G Review: Price in India
Samsung’s prices for its new Galaxy F55 5G seem to be appropriate on paper, given its specifications. The basic variant is priced at Rs. 26,999 and offers 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory.
The intermediate variant with 8GB RAM + 256GB internal memory costs Rs. 29,999, while the top-end option is available with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage at Rs. 32,999. The phone is available in two color options: Apricot Crush and Raisin Black. I received the high-end variant in the Apricot Crush finish for review.
Samsung Galaxy F55 5G Review: Design
Samsung has finally joined the bandwagon of smartphone makers offering a vegan leather finish with its recent offering. And Samsung’s adaptation of the vegan leather finish is, in my opinion, one of the best in this segment. The apricot-colored back panel made of vegan leather stands out for its red seams that run vertically along the edges.
The leather finish feels soft and fits comfortably in the hand. It also provides a better grip than the usual glass or polycarbonate backs that are available on other Samsung devices. However, it requires regular cleaning and a wet wipe to maintain its shine, which it does not usually do on other phones. The protruding camera modules also make it wobble on a flat surface.

The Samsung Galaxy F55 5G comes with One UI 6.1, which is based on Android 14. Operating. The recent version of One UI brings stable performance and a smoother software experience to this price segment. Animations are now refined, while the scrolling experience has improved compared to previous generations.
The interface has many customization options, including setting up a work profile where you can separate your business and personal accounts, which is sometimes convenient.
You will also get the ‘Modes and Routines’ feature, which allows you to adjust the phone settings to the activity. The margin panel makes it easy to access your favorite app by tapping the margin.
That means it comes with a bunch of pre-installed apps like PhonePe, Snapchat, LinkedIn and more. And it is a tedious task to delete the applications manually. The peek feature is enabled by default, which can be quite distracting at times.
The gaming performance of the device is decent enough. By default, when you install a game on this phone, it will appear only in Gaming Hub, and not in the app drawer. However, you can go to Gaming Hub > Settings and change it if you want to display it in the app drawer and on the home screen. When playing Asphalt 9: Legends, the gameplay experience was smooth as it could easily run in 60FPS mode with high-quality graphics.
In Call of Duty: Mobile, the phone worked comfortably with the default settings of very high graphics and frame rate settings. I didn’t notice any lag or stuttering during this adjustment. However, there was a certain delay when I set the frame rate to the maximum.
