Qualcomm Makes Its Compute Ai Models Available to Developers

Qualcomm made its entire library of artificial intelligence (AI) models available to developers on Saturday, which were presented at its AI center. This step allows app developers to download, run, and implement the AI capabilities of these models into their app experiences, or create new apps based on them. The company stressed that all AI models have been optimized for devices with the Snapdragon X Elite series AI-enabled system-on chipset. In particular, the company launched the AI chipset series in April.

Qualcomm makes its AI models available to developers

In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Qualcomm’s official handle stated that it has made the computational models in Qualcomm AI available to all developers. In particular, the AI models can be accessed through the company’s AI hub.

The Qualcomm AI Hub website lists 94 computational models distributed among various functions. There are models for audio enhancement and speech recognition, text and image generation, as well as multimodal capabilities such as image classification and image-to-text generation.

In addition, there are several AI models for various functions related to computer vision. These include depth estimation, image classification, image processing, object recognition, pose estimation, semantic segmentation and more. Surprisingly, most of these are open-source AI models that Qualcomm has tweaked and optimized to run efficiently on the Elite X series processors.

While AI Hub lists all the computational models that developers can download and run, the weights of the models are hosted on GitHub and Hugging Face. The AI Hub also shares the research work of the model, as well as basic details such as the size of the model, the number of parameters and the applicable scenarios.
